The Professional Role of the ATU Certified™ Advanced Ground Instructor

The ATU Certified AGI is an independent entrepreneur working in close association with Aviation Training Unlimited, Inc., to bring about a positive change in the quality of flight education and training everywhere on the planet.

An ATU Certified AGI is a licensed professional teacher capable of providing students the aeronautical knowledge necessary to attain the following ratings and/or certifications:

Sport Pilot

Private Pilot

Advanced Ground Instructor

Certfied Flight Instructor - Sport Pilot

Commercial Pilot

Certified Flight Instructor

Multi-Engine

Multi-Engine Instructor

Airline Transport Pilot

An ATU Certified AGI has extensive knowledge of both the aeronautical and practical requirements specified for the above ratings.

An ATU Certified AGI designs, supervises, and assists in the successful implementation of a student’s learning plan.

The ATU Certified AGI serves as a mentor, coordinator, and confidant for individual students as they proceed through the various stages of their educational program.

The ATU Certified AGI coordinates with the student and their flight instructor to insure a smooth, successful outcome to all flight training activities.

The ATU Certified AGI serves as a liaison between Flight Safety Counselors at local Flight Standard District Offices and teaching and training providers at the local level to insure that FAA compliance and quality control standards are rigidly met.

The ATU Certified AGI exhibits a strong, professional commitment to both flight education and training.

The ATU Certified AGI assumes responsibility for providing high quality flight training services to both recreational and professional flight students.

The ATU Certified AGI works to maintain consistency and harmony between the classroom and the training environment.

The ATU Certified AGI plays an active role in ATU promotion, recruitment, and program-services development.

The ATU Certified AGI performs active public speaking roles in a variety of community settings.

The ATU Certified AGI supervises all flight training activities in coordination with the flight instructor assigned to a specific student.

The ATU Certified AGI conducts student interviews in close coordination with the flight instructor assigned to a specific student.

The ATU Certified AGI serves as a consultant to FBOs, flight schools, and individual instructors who wish to improve the business aspects of their training operation.
