Private Pilot Class Aviation Weather

Aviation Weather - Really it's the same weather that everybody has and that you have had ALL of your life - Aviators just learn to look at it differently.

Understanding weather is a key to safe flight. It is, after all, the environment in which pilots operate or choose NOT to operate.

This portion of the learning plan is designed to give students a thorough understanding of how the living world around them works and how it relates to Aviation.

The topics in this portion include:

*The Heating of the Earth

*Circulation of the Wind

*Temperature

*Moisture

*Air Masses and Fronts

*Stability of the Atmosphere

*Clouds

*Turbulence

*Thunderstorms

*Wind Shear

*Icing

*Fog

*Frost

Weather is a fun thing to learn when you 'Why' and 'How' it works.

The knowledge that you gain on how to interpret weather data will help you tremendously in your decision making in Aviation as well as when planning that next picnic, day on the boat or outdoor wedding.
